Develop Your Own Homemade Detox Plan for Health and Wellness

By Joann Richards

Are you tired and run down all of the time? Does you skin look gray or do you suffer from acne? Are you carrying around some extra weight that won’t burn off no matter how little you eat?

If you answered “yes,” you could be suffering from a toxic body. In order to correct these symptoms, you will need to work on a homemade detox system that will get you into better shape and keep you there. Otherwise, you can expect your health to continue deteriorating.

One of the most powerful foods that you can add to your daily diet is lemons. These beautiful yellow citrus fruits are great for balancing your pH, providing vitamin C and detoxifying your blood. You should add one-half to a whole lemon to your morning water.

You can drink lemon water during a specific detoxification or just to boost your health each day. Use organic lemons when possible or rinse the outside thoroughly prior to cutting.

A good homemade detox plan will address a colon cleanse early on. Compacted fecal matter can contaminate your bowels, with waste material turning putrid and leaking toxins into your body. You need fiber to flush your digestive tract, particularly the colon.

There are various foods that you can include in your diet daily that will help to keep toxins purged from your body. While performing a full body cleanse at least once a year is a good idea, preventing toxic buildup is always wise.

Garlic and ginger are both powerful foods that can strengthen your immune system and stave off parasitic organisms. You can eat the ginger straight, make a tea or even grate over your favorite salad.

Although many find the flavor overpowering, garlic does wonders for your circulation and digestive tract. Eaten at the start of a high-fiber meal, the garlic will help push worms and other invasive organisms from your digestive tract.

When making your own detox plan, it can be tempting to allow yourself to consume certain “cheats.” Whether you give the okay to a nightcap before bed, dessert after lunch or some other type of behavior, you are undermining the other detox efforts. Give yourself and your body a break long enough to complete the plan and give yourself the opportunity to restore good health.

While some foods and beverages can help your circulatory system, they are no substitute for regular exercise. If you want to flush the toxins from your body, get moving! The more you stimulate your muscles and break into a sweat, the more toxins you loosen up. Since you are drinking plenty of detox water, your body will naturally flush the toxins in your sweat and urine.

You can feel great year-round if you are willing to take a proactive role in your health and wellness. As you cleanse your system, you will begin to feel and look better. Continue making the right choices to maintain and support the new, healthier you revealed by your detox efforts!
